8th December’s Weekend in Sorrento

It is time to hurry in order to avail oneself of the so many mini-holiday offers and the ideal occasion could be just the long 8th December’s Weekend. Also this year the period of Madonna Immacolata, which is celebrated on December 8th, will be a very good occasion to plan a relaxing cheap holiday, and certainly a lot of tourists will not miss this chance; the most important thing is to choose the right place and, in this case, we cannot do without suggesting you Sorrento.

Well- known all over the world for the charm of its land and sea, in Autumn, just before Winter, the landscape achieves warm colours which will make your holiday less cool and more welcoming, the isolated and lonely beaches will be the ideal frame for long romantic walks with your beloved, or the background of evenings with your friends, just organizing unforgettable bonfires. In this time of the year Sorrento is all a festival, all of its streets and in particular those of the coast will be lit by so many lights which will make you feel as if you were joining a living Christmas crib.

The walks along the markets of antiques or among the shops offer almost everything, from Christmas decorations to any kind of good food or drink, among which the famous Limoncello, the pasta of Gragnano, olive oil and so many other delicacies.

We strongly suggest you to sit in one of the cafeterias of the centre to sip a good coffee together with a typical cake of the Neapolitan tradition such as the Zeppole of San Giuseppe of the unforgettable Christmas Struffoli… they are simply delicious! You cannot miss the picturesque bonfire which from the hills of Santa Lucia welcomes the Advent, without forgetting to bring your letter to the imposing Christmas tree in the middle of the main square, decorated by the famous designer Roberto Giannotti.
